Open Training is Red Hat's self-service content development model that empowers subject matter experts to share their knowledge by creating training content. This collaborative approach complements our formal development efforts, ensuring that our materials stay timely, relevant, and grounded in real-world experience.

Open Training + Rapid Course Builder (RCB)

In use for Open Training projects

The RCB is your AI drafting assistant for Open Training courses. It takes care of the "heavy lifting"—from structure to first drafts—so you can focus on technical accuracy and real-world insights. We use RCB with current Open Training contributors and will get you set up during your kickoff call.

We're still improving RCB. The demo phase is complete and the tool is actively supporting course development today. We have a roadmap of enhancements ahead and welcome your feedback as you build.

  1. Submit your training idea

    Complete the form with your topic, details, and interest in collaborating with the Open Training Program.

  2. We'll follow up

    Our team reviews your request and schedules a kickoff call to confirm access, expectations, and get you started with RCB.

  3. Build your course

    Use RCB to draft and build your course. We'll guide you through the tool and help you create your course repo.

  4. Review & publish

    Our team reviews your final draft after you're done building the course, handles publishing to the LMS, and helps you claim GiveBack points.
