Install the OpenStack Operator

Follow below steps for installation of Openstack Operator on RHOCP cluster.

Reference: See Section 2.2. Installing the OpenStack Operator from RHOSP18.0-DP3 deployment guide.

  1. Copy the OpenStack Operator configuration for Catalog Source, OperatorGroup and Subscription from step number 8,9,10 respectively.

    or

    Use openstack-operator.sample file.

  2. Create a copy of sample config to install openstack operator.

    cp openstack-operator.sample osp-ng-openstack-operator.yaml
  3. Edit the file for use with your preferred editor.

    vi osp-ng-openstack-operator.yaml
  4. Change the image string for the CatalogSource to the below url:

    quay.io/redhat_emp1/osp-on-ocp-lb1374-dp3-index:latest
    This custom catalog source is required until RHOSP18 is released.

  1. Configure the Catalog Source, OperatorGroup and Subscription for the OpenStack Operator

    oc apply -f osp-ng-openstack-operator.yaml
  2. Confirm that you have installed the Openstack Operator, openstack-operator.openstack-operators:

    oc get operators openstack-operator.openstack-operators
  3. Review the pods in the openstack-operators namespace:

    oc get pods -n openstack-operators
  4. If you run:

    oc get pods -n openstack-operators --sort-by=.metadata.creationTimestamp

    You should see a list of completed pods and then the running openstack services pods. It should look like:

    Wait to see all the Running pods in READY state.

    To track the progress, you may utilize the following command, which will automatically terminate upon completion of the job.
